I don’t care how old you are... testing the masculinity of your truck by locking in the hubs and flooring it through the mud, will never get old. While I’m certainly not one who enjoys tearing my vehicles up, by going “mudding” every other week, there’s something about setting behind the wheel of a 4x4 that seems to bring out the kid in every grown man, (at least every once in awhile).
You’re setting behind the wheel of this powerful machine and in front of you appears to be an obstacle. Something that most people would avoid or go around... but not you. Oh no... not you! Somewhere along the way, somewhere between the engine, on up through the steering wheel, through your hands, your arms and on up to your brain... there’s a connection that’s lost and all common sense, logic, reasoning and safety are thrown out the window. You’re blinders are on and now all you can see is this obstacle, that in some way, shape or form is questioning your manhood and your ability to conquer. Somehow, this lifeless “thing” that lies before you, that has no voice, is somehow screaming at you, telling you that you CAN’T make it!!!... Well... that’s all the motivation you need! It doesn’t matter how expensive truck parts are anymore or whether or not there’s a tractor around to pull you out. The ONLY thing that matters is at this point, is conquering the challenge that lies before you and seizing the glory that comes with it!
With the rev of the engine your eyes light up, and before you know it, IT’S ON LIKE DONKEY KONG! With white knuckles and the pedal to the metal, testosterone and blood pressure is at an all time high. If there was ever a time that you were a man, the time is now. Defeat is NEVER an option, only VICTORY! So onward you press. If at first you don’t succeed... then back it up and hit it again! Win, lose or draw, you’re not about to give up. It’s either total defeat or total victory at this point, but make no mistake about it, you’re either gonna bask in the glory of sweet victory or die trying, because THAT’s what men do!
As men, we’re conquerors. We give it all we got and let the chips fall where they may... and I wouldn’t have it any other way. There’s nothing worse than a “wishy-washy” man, a man who says one thing and does another. With a “real” man, at least you know where he stands. He’s either completely for something or completely against something, but either way he’s committed to what he believes and doesn’t believe in “setting on the fence” or “beating around the bush”. Right OR wrong, he’s committed to what he believes and he’s gonna tell you how it is and THAT alone, is worthy of respect.
