If you’ve never had the opportunity to go to one, I would highly recommend going to a 3D Bow Shoot. Not only are they a great way to get ready for the season, but they’re also a lot of fun. They can serve as a great source of entertainment for the entire family, while also providing hunters a great source of fellowship and networking with other fellow hunters.
It was a real joy getting to spend time with like minded people in God’s great outdoors. It’s great to see men, women and children from all walks of life, using everything from youth and women’s bows to the traditional and compound bows, all participating in the event and supporting one another throughout the day.
Aside from the course itself, the “Long Shot” and “Iron Rhino” competitions were a blast and provided plenty of opportunities to razz each other, while still having a lot of fun. As men, we obviously thrive on competition and anytime you get the opportunity to showcase your mad skills, (or the lack there of), while having still have good, clean, fun... I don’t think you can beat it.
My wife had never been to a shoot before and we both had a wonderful time. Something we definitely plan on doing more often in the future. Not only was it a cheap date for me (score), but it also allowed us to fine tune our bows and build up our confidence as we enter the deer blind this season.
If you’re looking for an activity for you and the family or just want an excuse to get outside, away from the TV for awhile, I highly suggest going to a local bow shoot in your area... besides, where else are you gonna shoot a dinosaur?
Special thanks to John Hoy, Jamie Regis and all the guys that made the shoot at Cedar Bluff possible!!!
