As hunters, we are also explorers. Just as much as we enjoy the trill of the hunt, we equally enjoy discovering new terrain. As young boys, we would often pack up our backpacks and head out into the back yard or walk to the nearest creek, as if we were on a Lewis and Clark expedition. As we grow older, the desire to explore and discover doesn’t seem to change. There is something instilled within us, from our Creator, that causes us to seek out new terrain and discover new things. Regardless of how many men have been there before us, it’s always a joy and a privilege to walk where we had never walked before.
“Even though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil,
for you are with me; your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.”
- Psalm 23:4
