Ahhhh, the backwoods...  Also known as Heaven on Earth to many.  The place where many people (country and city folk alike), can find peace and solitude.  A place where many can find rest, for their restless souls.

Often times in the midst of this rat race we call life, we can find ourselves chasing after many a things that this world has to offer.  Most of which, never seem to satisfy our soul.  At least not like we had originally thought and ultimately they all leave us wanting even more.  We work more, so we can have more, only to do it all over again.  We eventually find ourselves chasing our tail in a very unsatisfying and unfulfilling cycle.  A cycle that takes a great toll on our bodies and even those around us.  Worse than that, is that many of us have even convinced ourselves that this is the way it is and that this life is just a miserable series of cycles, that we just have to endure and try to survive.

But just as God breathed life into Adam, the wilderness breeze is God’s breath of life to me.  As I stand in the solitude of God’s creation, I close my eyes and breathe in a deep breath...  The cleansing purity of the air, seems to sooth the depths of my soul.  As I stand in silence and exhale, this setting seems to always clear my mind of any problems, distractions or worries...  It’s just me and my Creator........................  NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.............. NOTHING!

Miles away from the people, the traffic and the business of life... is where my soul is renewed, replenished and restored.  All right here... in the backwoods.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.  Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not much more valuable than they?  Can anyone of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

And why do you worry about clothes?  See how the flowers of the field grow.  They do not labor or spin.  Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.  If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you - you of little faith?  So do not worry, saying ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’  For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

- Matthew 6:25-34
